This fun and super easy felt project is perfect for beginner felt food makers. Adding crinkle to the egg allows it to crackle a bit while “cooking” Pair it with our easy tutorial for retro salt and pepper shakers and you’re well on your way to a fun and interactive breakfast experience.
For 2 Eggs You will need:
White Felt- 9″x 12″
Yellow Felt scrap 3″ x 6″ I used Mustard Seed but Hello Yellow and Egg Yolk are also good choices.
White and Yellow Thread
A Small Amount of Stuffing
Crinkle Material (Optional)
Scissors
Sewing Needle
Template (at the end of this post)
Cut 2 of each of the egg styles (1 &2) from white felt. Cut 2 yolk circles.
Decide where to place your yolks they look best when they aren’t centered.
Begin sewing down tolk to one of the egg style pieces with a running stitch and matching thread.
Stuff lightly before completely stitching the yolk in place.
Cut crinkle to just smaller than the size of your egg shape and place inbetween the two pieces before…
Stitching together with an overcast stitch using white thread. Repeat for second egg style.
Folded up these little guys tuck perfectly into plastic Easter eggs you may have lying around.They also look great in green.
