Welcome back to hipster week – the week where we celebrate all things hipster.
What hipster’s wardrobe would be complete without a set of vintage glasses. Stitch up a classic vintage style black men’s hipster glasses or a sassy red cat eye with sequin details.
Of all the things I have made from felt I have to say these felt glasses are one of my all time favorites.
Because of their small size these little felt Christmas ornaments are a fairly quick project.
You will need:
Template (at the end of this post)
4″ x 3″ white felt scrap
8″x 6″ – Poppy colored felt for women’s glasses
8″ x 6″ – Black felt for men’s glasses
Sequins in:
Classic Red
Gold Rush
Crystal
Cut 2 pieces A and 4 C from black felt, 2 pieces B and E from white felt, 2 parts D and 4 parts C from Poppy felt.
Set aside one of the frame pieces for each set (A and D)
Attach lens pieces to the remaining frame templates.
Sew down one crystal sequin to the upper right “lens” piece of each set of glasses.
Attach three red sequins to the corners of women’s hipster frame (D)
Sew both frame pieces together with matching thread and an overcast stitch and set aside.
Sew two side pieces together stopping a quarter-inch from the end. Repeat with remaining sides.
Add Gold Rush sequin detail to sides of mens glasses.
Attach looped ribbon to one side.
Sew Sides to back of frames.
