25 days of Felt Christmas Crafts!

29 Nov

Felt crafts for Christmas

Few things say Christmas crafting as much as felt. Felt is a perfect medium for nearly every Christmas project.

Lest you doubt this AFC will be featuring free felt Christmas crafts and templates from the blogosphere for the next 25 days .

So sharpen those scissors and craft along.

Our first project are these amazing felt houses from Claire Chauvin of Poopscape Projects:

Felt Christmas ornament tutorial

These little lighted felt houses remind me of the tradition of placing lit candles in the Windows of your home. Window candles are meant to signal loyalty to family and loved ones who cannot be with us.

Traditionally candles in the window are meant to signal to loved ones that the family inside awaited their return and the hearth was warm and waiting for them.

I think these little houses are sweet reminders of the meaning that the Christmas season holds for us and a message that family is family no matter the distance.

What you’ll need:
House template (on Poopscape Projects blog)
Felt
Embroidery floss and needle
Scissors or x-acto knife
Stiffy Fabric Stiffener
Foam brush
Optional: battery-operated led tealights

See you tomorrow.

These amazing leaves from Rosina {ROSY ~ POSY} made for her nature table, they have the names of the trees they came from right on them! TOO CUTE!

I see some of these in my future, what a great idea and a fun way to teach your little one about native trees.  I also think they could make some really cool felt coasters.

A few wooden beads and felt owls with these guys could make an adorable fall garland.

Of course you know what happened the last time I made one of those

For the record we kept the garland.
