Felt Friday Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

1 Mar

It’s Seuss’ Birthday and you’re in for a treat – in honor of a guy we never will meet.

His use of color amazing, his words quite astounding.

Teaching lessons so important I don’t mind expounding.

So pull up a chair, grab your coffee and afghan and join in a felt celebration of the man!

Felt Friday – Color of the Year Edition

4 Jan

Every year Pantone selects a color of the year, a color they expect to influence everything from art to home decor in the coming year. This years selection is…17-5641 Emerald.

And every year,  American Felt and Craft selects the felt color most closely matching the Pantone color of the year and this years winner is...Jungle Vine.

Emerald- a “lively, radiant, lush green”. Color of the Year for 2013

“Green is the most abundant hue in nature – the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®.”

“Most often associated with brilliant, precious gemstones, the perception of Emerald is sophisticated and luxurious. Since antiquity, this luminous, magnificent hue has been the color of beauty and new life in many cultures and religions.

It’s also the color of growth, renewal and prosperity – no other color conveys regeneration more than green. For centuries, many countries have chosen green to represent healing and unity.” -Pantone

What do you think about the “color of the year”?
