DIY Easy Felt Heart Ornaments
This year create something from the heart. Here’s a simple heart ornament pattern even the littlest sewer can help to craft up. These super easy DIY felt heart ornaments are great for kids or those new to sewing. These ornaments go together easily and make great handmade gifts and a great holiday craft for parties and get togethers. You will need:
Felt heart ornament template Heart Pattern or see end of post
Printed felt for small hearts I used prints from the Wrapping Paper Collection*
4″ x 7″ felt for large heart I used Four Leaf Clover* Fire Engine Red, White , Grey, and Toffee*
Felt glue or hot glue (Optional, to attach front hearts)
4″ Ribbon or cord for hanging per ornament
Stuffing
Sewing Needle / Embroidery needle
*Matching Thread
Cut out small heart shape from printed felt. Cut 2 Large heart shapes from felt color of your choice.
Sew small heart to the larger heart shape with a running stitch and matching thread. For help with stitches see our post on STITCHES.
Stack felt large felt heart shapes together and overcast stitch along the edges of the hearts to connect them. When you get to the dip in the heart center loop ribbon to create a hanging loop and stitch through a few times to secure.
Stuff heart shape and sew closed.
These felt hearts are so quick and simple to make with nearly endless options and look great on gifts or looped over a bottle of wine.
