Now that you’ve crafted up the Halloween tree of your dreams it’s time to decorate it.  While I am normally not a fan of spiders these sparkly, soft spiders are utterly charming. Customize with colors, eye placement, design and sequins to make each spider your own. I’ve  included some spider eye placement ideas on the printable template to make things even easier.

You will need:

Black felt and thread  a 9″ x 12″ sheet will make two spiders.

Black seed beads for eyes

Sequins (I used, Hot Pink, Classic Red, Highlighter, Black and Dragonfly

Scrap felt for designs (optional) I used Lipstick and Bubblegum

White embroidery floss for web hanging loop

Stuffing

2 spider (or widow) bodies and one set of legs from black felt.

Add design to spider body. For tips on sewing sequins see our post on how to sew sequins to felt.

On the opposite body side sew legs to body by sewing through the center of the leg piece with a running stitch.

Place body pieces together with the legs on the outside not sandwiched between the two pieces, over cast stitch around the body and stuff.
