You will need:

TEMPLATE (at the end of this post)

7″ x 4″ scrap White Felt

3″  Ric Rac in 4 colors per tree

Leather Punch (Optional)

Matching Thread

6″ ribbon or cord per tree for hanging

Simple Felt Ornament

Cut tree outlines from white  felt.

Making felt ric rac ornaments

Sew ric rac to felt tree using matching thread.

Seal ends of ric rack with heat, fray check or clear nail polish

Seal the end of the ric rac to prevent it from fraying. If you are using a synthetic ric rac you can do this by carefully melting the ends with an open flame. You can also use a small amount of felt glue, fray check, or clear nail polish to stop any fraying.
